ABOUT US
Welcome to Ten Thousand Villages in San Antonio!
Located in the historic Pearl District, just down the street from the Pearl Brewery building, take in the sites, shop, dine, browse the Farmer’s Market, then come visit us, at Ten Thousand Villages.
WHAT IS FAIR TRADE? WHY TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES?
We’re a nonprofit shop with small-batch, artisan-made home decor, jewelry, accessories, and gifts handcrafted by makers from around the world.
Our sustainable retail model puts people and planet first. We started fair trade in 1946 and were a founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
We see fair trade as an equitable alternative to conventional international trade.
We cultivate trading relationships in places where skilled artisans are under or unemployed, where they lack other opportunities for income. With Ten Thousand Villages, artisans earn fair prices and work in safe conditions, and customers can shop their values.
Featuring products from 65+ artisan enterprises in some 20 countries, we’re part of a network of more than 1,000 shops across the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages goods. Enjoy our store and the many shops and Farmers Market at the Pearl in the heart of San Antonio, TX.
