Ever since I learned about tagua, I have been looking for jewelry made of it this beautiful material. It has been referred to as vegetable ivory. The texture is smooth, it is lightweight and the craftsmanship is outstanding.

It's beautiful and large enough to be a statement necklace, but not so large it gets in the way. It is also long, so it can be worn different ways.

The necklace is lovely, with one drawback: the intricate etching is only visible to the wearer, but nearly imperceptible from a few feet away for a viewer. More contrast of etching to background would be ideal. But, lovely, still...
