A great addition to our patio (and our life!)

Seven years ago we installed the same birdhouse in our patio and, ever since, we’ve enjoyed seeing different bird families use it. We’ve witnessed the parental couple as they both care for the nest and the newborn chicks, how they both fly back and forth to bring them food, and how the birds grow, becoming stronger and finally taking off. On one occasion we witnessed the chicks leave the nest, hop around the vicinity, and go back in the nest to sleep one last night… On another occasion, we witnessed a fight between two fathers of a different species, who were both claiming the property… This past time, we sadly witnessed the last chick being unable to leave the nest, and after a few days, we decided it was time to find out what was happening: the bird’s leg was tangled with something (maybe twine or thread or some other material that had been used to build the nest inside). We had to open the house to release the birdie, because the more it tried to fly away, the tighter the knot trapping its leg became. We succeeded in letting it go free, and immediately ordered a replacement bird house. It has given us unforgettable memories and appreciation of nature. I definitely recommend it, and this particular house was very strong and sturdy.
By the way, two days after we put the new bird house up, a family found it and is already occupying it
